1.       Plethora               noun                     a large or excessive amount of something
If you love cheesecake, The Cheesecake Factory has a plethora of flavors.           
 
2.       Dubious               adj                          doubtful, not to be relied on, suspect
Karyn’s compliance seemed dubious, but she came through after all.
                                                                                                                                                                
3.       Daunting            verb                      intimidating
Cleaning Mr. Myers’ house was the most daunting task we ever attempted.
 
4.       Acquiesce           verb                    to passively consent
Although Jesse refused to go to the wedding, he acquiesced and showed up at the reception.
 
5.       Indomitable        adj              impossible to defeat or subdue
         The indomitable spirit of the American founding fathers has given us the greatest country in the world.           
 
6.       Enmity                 noun                   hostility
The enmity in the Reese household is intolerable.
7.       Peripatetic          adj                          move from place to place
Because migrant workers lead a peripatetic existence, their children are not typically educated
well.
 
8.       Ebullient              verb                       very lively or cheerful
Sam’s ebullient personality is contagious.            
 
9.       Machination       noun                     plot or scheme, esp. with evil intent
The toxic machinations of the evil doctor made the movie all the more disturbing.           
 
10.   Pernicious           adj                          very harmful; destructive
Legalizing marijuana may turn out to be a pernicious decision.
