* Read pages 246-249 in your anthology. Be able to define the term "romanticism" and name the defining characteristics of romantic writing.

* Read page 256 in your anthology, then read "The Devil and Tom Walker" (pages 258-268). Answer the critical reading questions (1-7) on page 268, then answer the literary analysis questions (1-6) on page 269.

* Read page 310 in your anthology and the Edgar Allan Poe biography section in your "Raven" packet, then read the poem "The Raven" (pages 330-334).

* Complete the questions in your packet on "The Raven." 

* Read page 338 in your anthology, then read "The Minister's Black Veil" (pages 340-352). Complete the discussion and vocabulary questions from the handouts you received in class.
