For next week:
1. Complete the painted color wheel. This project is worth 100 points, you want to do your best work and get this turned in on time. You will be graded on the following:
-student's work has interesting shapes and is separated in it's proper space
- students work show a basic understanding of color theory
- art work shows tints, hues and shades placed in the right places opposite each other on the color wheel
- students shows skill in mixing paint and using a paint brush
- craftsmanship - attention to detail, work is neat, paint is inside the lines, no smudges, pencil lines erased
- work is turned in on time (worth 10 extra points)
In class next week you will have the opportunity to self assess your work, before you turn it in.
2. Some tips for the project:
- use the colored pencil color wheel to make sure that you are staying on track with where the colors belong
- be as steady as possible with the paint brush, stay in the lines and fill in the space completely, with no white showing in those spaces
. rinse the brushes out well to remove all paint before using a new color and change the water often.
- use black paint sparingly while mixing the shades of the color, too much black mixed in will overpower the color
- once the paint is dry completely, erase all remaining pencil lines.
3. Bring your sketchbook, notebook and art supplies including your paints.
if you have any questions about the project, let me know. Have a great week painting!
