Homework due Feb. 2, 2016

* For the close reading handout: "Daisy and Gatsby Reunited":
   - Annotate. Underline and identify any examples of similes, metaphors, or personification. Underline and comment in the margins any thoughts, questions, connections, etc. 
   - Complete the accompanying point of view writing assignment, following the instructions outlined in the handout. 

* Read chapter 7 in The Great Gatsby. We are only reading one chapter this week, but I want you to read it closely. TAKE NOTES, either in your book or on a separate sheet/sheets of paper. As in the assignment above, take note of figurative language (you don't need to identify ALL examples of figurative language in this chapter, but do pay attention and make note of any examples that are particularly interesting or powerful), write down thoughts, questions, connections. 

* Complete the note taking and summarizing handout for chapter 7, as well as the comprehension questions. 

* Complete the handout: "Chapter 7 frame of reference chart."
