3. Follow the instructions on your handout of “There Came a Wind…” to the letter. 4. Note how Emily chooses her words so carefully and specifically. Each word has a design and purpose. No wasted words here! She tells a powerfully descriptive story in only 17 lines! This helps by her usage of personification. I want you to try out this poetic term in your poem this week and see how it makes your poem come alive! Alliteration would be another good one to try!
